Project Overview
This project is the public website for Sahali Animal Hospital in Kamloops, British Columbia. I built it as a real business website that needs to do more than look polished. It has to help pet owners find important information quickly, build trust in the clinic, and support real contact and registration flows.
The site balances presentation and function. It showcases veterinary services, supports educational blog content, provides multiple contact pathways, and creates a calm and professional digital presence that fits the needs of a local clinic.

Open Sahali Animal HospitalTrust first
The website needs to feel dependable from the first screen because users are often looking for care, reassurance, or urgent information.
Clear information flow
Services, contact details, clinic hours, and next steps need to be easy to find on both desktop and mobile.
Operational value
The website also supports business goals through forms, content, search visibility, and repeat engagement.
Business Goals
Sahali Animal Hospital is a real clinic website, so the project had to solve real business and user problems at the same time. The structure of the site was shaped by what pet owners actually need when they visit a clinic website.
Clear service discovery
Visitors should be able to understand what the clinic offers without reading through dense copy. The service structure is meant to reduce uncertainty and help people get to the right page quickly.
Strong trust signals
Testimonials, team presentation, polished design, and educational content help the clinic feel credible and welcoming to new clients.
Practical lead capture
The forms and contact pathways are designed to turn site visits into real client actions, whether that is a quick message or a full registration submission.
Service Experience
A homepage that introduces the clinic clearly
The homepage is designed to establish trust quickly. It introduces the clinic, points users toward key actions, and makes the site feel calm and professional rather than overly busy.
This matters for veterinary websites because visitors are often making quick decisions. The page needs to communicate reliability, friendliness, and competence within a very short attention window.

Service-focused page structure
The site presents veterinary services in a clear hierarchy so pet owners can understand what care is available. This supports both user confidence and search visibility because the content is organized in a way that search engines and visitors can understand.
Responsive and approachable design
The service experience was built to remain readable and comfortable on phones, tablets, and desktops. That is important for local business traffic because many users arrive from mobile search or map results.
Content and SEO

Educational content that supports the clinic
The blog system gives the clinic a way to publish useful pet care content and stay active online. This adds value for visitors while also helping the website stay relevant in search.
Content is not just an extra feature here. It supports trust, repeat visits, and long-term discoverability. It also helps position the clinic as a source of useful guidance instead of only a contact page.
Firebase-backed content flow
The site uses Firebase for blog content management, which supports a more flexible publishing workflow than a fully static content setup. This makes it easier to add and update posts over time.
Search visibility by design
SEO considerations were built into the page structure, metadata, and content organization. The goal was to make the website discoverable while still keeping the user experience clear and readable.
Forms and Conversion
Turning visits into action
A local clinic website needs to do more than inform. It needs to help people take the next step. That is why the project includes both quick contact flows and more detailed registration flows.
The quick message form supports lower-friction inquiries, while the registration process gives the clinic a more complete intake path for new clients. Together they make the site more useful to both the clinic and its visitors.
Why the form work matters
- It supports real business communication, not just page views.
- It reduces friction for new and returning clients.
- It connects the front end directly to a useful clinic workflow.

Design and Technical Build
The technical stack supports a clean and responsive front end while also handling content, forms, and site performance requirements. The project was built to feel polished, but the design decisions were always tied back to clarity and real clinic needs.
Frontend
React, TypeScript, Vite, and Tailwind CSS power the main interface and support a responsive, component-based build.
Content layer
Firebase supports blog content so the site can continue to evolve after launch without heavy code changes.
Form delivery
EmailJS is used to route client submissions into a practical contact workflow for the clinic.
Search and performance
The project includes SEO-conscious structure, strong page clarity, and performance-minded implementation for a better overall experience.

Results and Learnings
This project strengthened my ability to design for a real business where presentation, usability, and practical outcomes all matter at the same time. It required careful attention to tone, trust, information hierarchy, content structure, and conversion paths.
Project outcome
The final site gives Sahali Animal Hospital a polished digital home that supports service discovery, education, trust-building, and client communication.
What I learned
I learned how important structure is in local business websites. A good design is not only attractive. It also reduces uncertainty, answers key questions quickly, and helps people act with confidence.
